The Downtown Disney redevelopment into Disney Springs is really taking shape, and extremely exciting to see. It’s a huge project for Disney with the addition of many more restaurants and shops to the area.
Last week we checked out the latest addition, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, it must be one of the smallest bar’s Disney has, but it’s packed with goodies.
The theme for this bar is taken from the Indiana Jones movies, where Jock was Indy’s pilot and contains many artefacts salvaged from Jock’s travels across the world. Both the food and drinks menu are also themed from Jock’s travels across the globe, and each bite sized creation is designed to be shared and enjoyed among friends.
The bar can seat 150 with three main areas… You have an inside bar where you are surrounded by all the memorabilia from the movies, check out that roof!
An outside bar and deck overlooking the lake. Or you can hang out on Jock’s old steamboat and watch the Amphicars setting sail from The Boathouse next door.
As we all know Disney likes a good story, and legend says….. “Jock made a home at this waterfront property in the 1940s after discovering this charming little town while flying Indiana Jones over the Sunshine State in search of the elusive Fountain of Youth in 1938. As a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, Jock often welcomed his globetrotting friends to his hangar for a drink and fun times.”
This is a great bar to start your evening at Disney Springs, enjoying the sunset before heading onto one of the larger restaurants for dinner like The Boahouse or Morimoto Asia which are right next door. We will be adding blog posts about these two new Disney Springs restaurants shortly.
